Peñasco-Lobos Corridor Fisheries Project Collaborative,
cooperative, integrated fisheries management with participation of
commercial fishers, conservationists and government agencies is our goal
for this interwoven set of ecosystems in the corridor from Penasco to
Lobos along the coast of Sonora. Read more about it here. Environmental Contest In Full Swing Over a dozen teams from 12 schools and three communities have registered to participate in the 17th Annual Environmental Contest. The theme, "fishing for Our Future," tasks each team to choose a fishery of their community, interview fishers engaged in that harvest, and collaboratively develop a proposal of fisheries management that will minimize negative impact while providing economic viability for their hometowns. Finalists will be honored at a June gathering. Read more here!
Staff Profile - Maria Tereza Pereira-Barros As Field Education Resident Intern, Maria
Tereza is usually the first person that visitors to the Field Station
will meet. On duty for only a year, she must know all about the
NaturArte Ecotours, the Gift Shop, the academic and research uses of the
Field Station and much much more. Now that summer is approaching, she is packing up her gear and planning to head back north to her home of New England. We will miss her when her time ends this summer. Read more about her experience at CEDO! SPONSOR A CHILD - Summer Camp at CEDO CEDO seeks sponsors for children who cannot afford the fees required for Wet Feet Ocean Camps this summer.
