Opportunities often arise to promote sustainable development, or to protect land from destructive development.  We have created this fund so that we can take swift action to protect these irreplaceable wetlands, and support the livelihoods of those who depend upon them. 

The 40th Anniversary of the Ramsar Convention has brought back into focus the dire need to protect and preserve critical wetlands not only for species habitat but also for healthy watersheds and arible lands.

The Peñasco Estero Conservation Fund enables CEDO to:

- Respond quickly to actions which threaten the esteros of Puerto Peñasco.
- Take action to conserve their aquatic and terrestrial biodiversity.
    - Legal Defense
    - Restoration
    - Species Protection
- Priority Zone Conservation.
- Share information about critical wetland issues with the community.
    - Educational Campaigns
    - Signage
- Increase citizen participation in conservation

The fund is managed by CEDO, its Board of Directors and their advisors.
