Private Land Conservation

Legal tools are being developed, here in México, to protect essential ecosystems over the long term. CEDO seeks to use these tools to regulate land use around sensitive wetlands through conservation easements.  Landowners agree to long term conservation of their land, in exchange for economic incentives and outside support of their sustainable activities.

Objectives:

- Protect private lands adjacent to wetlands in the Northern Gulf of California, using voluntary legal tools.
- Promote the sustainable use wetland ecosystems with landowners, though economic incentives.
- Support and maintain wetland ecologic and economic functions.

If you own land near an estuary, and you’d like to develop sustainable activities or conserve your land contact us .

Our priority zones are currently: Bahía San Jorge, Estero Morúa y Bahía Adair.
