Q: What does CEDO stand for?
A: It is an acronym from our Spanish name: El Centro Intercultural de Estudios de Desiertos y Océanos (the Intercultural Center for the Study of Deserts and Oceans).

Q: What is CEDO?
A: CEDO is a bi-cultural organization with non-profit status in Mexico
and the United States. We focus on research, education and conservation in the Northern Gulf of California.
Q: Where is CEDO?
A: Our main office/research station is located in Puerto Peñasco,
Sonora, México. CEDO is in Las Conchas, a residential neighborhood in
Puerto
Peñasco, on the beach. Puerto Peñasco is historically a fishing town, but has since grown into a tourist and resort destination, due to its proximity to the U.S., especially Arizona and California. Visit our Maps and Directions page for more information. CEDO also maintains a small office in Tucson, Arizona.
Q: When did CEDO begin? CEDO was formally incorporated as a non-profit 501 c-3 charitable organization in 1980, although scientific activity was occurring prior to that date (see "About CEDO" for more details on CEDO's origins.)
Q: What is an eco-adventure?
A: The perfect way to experience the Northern Gulf of California and Sonoran Desert, why of course!
