We are very excited to be celebrating
our 30th anniversary this year. Thanks to everyone who has been involved with CEDO over our 30 years, we could not have achieved this without you.
Stay tuned to this
page as we will be updating it frequently with news regarding our 30th
anniversary. So far we have three definite events set. Please read below for more information on those. Check back regularly as we have many more special events ahead, including a fiesta at our field station in
Puerto Peñasco, Sonora, México, an
art contest, community forums and more. Click on the links below for more information on each event.
Tucson Festival of Books, March 13-14
CEDO will have a table and booth at this year's festival. Presentations
from CEDO-related authors will occur over the two-day event. 30th
anniversary merchandise and, of course, books will be on sale. More
information can be found here.
Save the Date: 30th Anniversary Celebration at Hotel Congress in Downtown Tucson, May 1
Join CEDO to celebrate our anniversary at Hotel Congress in downtown
Tucson. Live music,
sustainable seafood, kid's activities - including hands-on fun with
marine
tidepool creatures and desert critters, and educational booths on CEDO's
programs, will all be a part of the festivities. We look forward to celebrating this
milestone
with all of our friends, colleagues and supporters. Click here for more information.

CEDO Celebrates 30 Years of Work in the Northern Gulf of California
'Sustainability' is the defining word for the 30th anniversary
celebration of CEDO. In 1980 CEDO opened its doors in Puerto Peñasco,
Sonora, with programs focusing on research and education.
In the last decade much attention has been given to conservation
and management of the Northern Gulf ecosystem.
The CEDO vision is that all residents and visitors to the Northern Gulf
understand,
appreciate and participate in sustainable activities and actions that
support a healthy,
thriving and productive ecosystem. Our method is to learn about the
region through
research, share the fruits of that research through educational
activities, and then
use this knowledge to bring people together to help protect this
ecosystem.

We invite you to join in these efforts. Classes and researchers from throughout
the US and Mexico continue to use CEDO’s biological field station for their studies.
CEDO is open to the public. You are invited to come by to admire the 55 ft. fin whale
skeleton display, the Earthship/tire house, or to enjoy a natural history talk or eco-adventure.
CEDO’s NaturArte eco-adventures combine nature, art, and culture and
contribute to local sustainable livelihoods and conservation of important habitats.
